Wishing you all a lovely weekend 🍁
seeing beauty in the changing of seasons.. the golds,
oranges and reds that come out first.
then slowly these colors fade, and petals are withered on stems growing weak.
even in this autumnal stage
there is grace.
Fall decor and Halloween Candy already in shops and It’s only August 1st. Why do we feel the need to rush our time forward? Do we really need to think about Halloween and Fall now? Yes, I know it’s a marketing ploy to spend more money, but we need to feel peace and pay attention to where we are now. Be in this moment, this day, without wondering what costume to buy. Lets just stop and smell the ocean air mingled with sunscreen and cotton candy, the freshly mowed lawns and garden flowers on this beautiful Summer day.
This flower, the Lantana, is one of my new favorites to plant..
the grapefruit like fragrance is intoxicating and their colors are beautiful..
I may have to go to the garden center to get more 🙂
camera in hand
trying to capture moments
of the many shades of early summer.
the lushness that is now.
tightly closed buds.
before they open
revealing soft petals of velvet,
displaying their inner brilliance.
my most favorite time of year
here are some foggy fall moments from the other morning here at home.
It was such a spring day as breathes into a man an ineffable yearning,
a painful sweetness,
a longing that makes him stand motionless,
looking at the leaves or grass,
and fling out his arms to embrace he knows not what.”
~ John Galsworthy ~
“And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive.
You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over.
But one thing is certain.
When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in.
That’s what this storm’s all about.”
~ Haruki Murakami ~
